Upload files to vSphere via CLI

Because if you deal with Vsphere GUI, you’ve certainly spent sometime troubleshooting why your upload would fail.

Plus, using CLI commands is useful for your scripts!

Open up your CLI, if you’re using Windows issue the command:

Enter Vsphere’s username password, that’s it.

If you’re using Linux, issue the command:

Enter Vsphere’s username password, that’s it.

Bonus:

You can check your vSphere Datastore location in the GUI:

Check the “LOCATION” field

Or you can SSH into the vSphere host and navigate using Linux Commands. From your CLI:

Enter the password

To list the directories in the folder, and

To navigate through the directories.
